Hey guys,
Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while. So I'm in the thick of things here in Solwezi. I've been busy with Solradio. I have been doing a few on air slots for the past few weeks which have been really fun. I'm learning heaps about on air broadcasting and am getting a little better at multitasking with talking and doing the controls at the same time. I've also been making a few programmes. One is called "Milk Matters" which is all about milk, it is sponsored by the Zambia Dairy Producers association , and we are promoting milk and diary products. I know its pretty random for a Christian radio station but being the only radio station that is in Solwezi we do all sorts. The other programme is about HIV/Aids, where we look at this topic from a ground level. I am working on the HIV/Aids programme with our Programmes Manager Mr Fwataki. I have learnt a lot about the culture through working closely with another Zambian. There is not much to do here for entertainment during the weekends but I have made a few mzungu (white/foreign) friends. It is always good hanging out with them and sharing our experiences. I have found a Church to go to. It has quite a few youth in it and it is mostly in English; they do play Zambian songs which I dance and clap to.
Thanks for all your prayers and support.
Bless,
Shaina

The slowest internet in the world
Hey ya'll,
So I haven't been able to post many blogs lately. One, because I've been busy at the radio station and two, becuase Zambia has the slowest internet in the world. That is not an over statement either, it has the slowest internet in the world according to some research that I am not willing to look up becasue I will get so frustrated with how slow the internet is going. Anyway, Zambia is going well. We had an American mission team of 6 over helping with Heather the Lusa homebased care project. They were fun and it was great having them around. Its getting cooler here too. I'm wearing a jersey in during the morning and evening but it does heat up during the day. Hope all is well at home!!!
